Remain in Light
by Talking Heads · music · 1980
Remain in Light is the fourth studio album by Talking Heads, released October 8, 1980, produced by Brian Eno and recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas and Sigma Sound Studios in New York during July and August 1980. The band and Eno recorded instrumental tracks as a series of looping grooves based on the communal African way of making music, with Fela Kuti's 1973 album Afrodisiac serving as their template. Eno worked rapidly, looping instrumental sections and piecing together the sections in lieu of structuring the song with conventional verses and choruses.
