nostalgia, ULTRA.

frank ocean self-released nostalgia, ULTRA on february 16, 2011 via tumblr, a year after signing to def jam but having no working relationship with the label. the mixtape sampled coldplay, radiohead, mgmt, mr. hudson, and the eagles, with the official release canceled after the eagles threatened to sue over an uncleared sample. def jam later re-released two tracks, novacane and swim good, as standalone singles without notifying ocean.
