Lost in America

Lost in America is a 1985 film written and directed by Albert Brooks with co-writer Monica Johnson, distributed by Warner Bros. through The Geffen Company. ABC Motion Pictures originally agreed to finance the script, but when ABC reallocated funds to other projects, Brooks brought the project to Geffen, which put up half of the $4 million budget, with Brooks raising the other $2 million from independent investors. Brooks took smaller budgets after his earlier films to keep control on set, shooting 42 of the 45-day schedule on location across the US rather than on soundstages.
